Opaline Scent Bottle Brooch, ca. 1870

A striking French turquoise opaline glass scent bottle brooch from the mid-19th century. With a silver mount bearing the boar’s head hallmark. Later adapted as a brooch.

There is something in its bright blue colour and quiet strangeness that feels uncannily right. As though it belongs in the hands, or on the lapel, of Lee Miller.

Bottle 4.8 x 2.5 cm C. 7.3 cm in full length
